Oh Snap, No Snaps!
We're having an unplugged ceremony! We want to see your smiling faces, not your devices. Please put away your phones and cameras until after the I Do's so everyone can be truly present in the moment with us. Don't worry about missing any shots - we've hired professional photographers and videographers to capture every special moment. You'll be able to easily access these high-quality photos and videos later. Thanks for being all in with us!
RSVP
We can't wait to celebrate with you! Please let us know by 11th of November 2024 if you can make it using the invite links we sent to you. If you haven't received your invite link, ask us for one!
Frequently Asked Questions
Don't hesitate to message us for any other questions!
What should I wear?
We want everyone to feel comfortable and at ease during our special day, so there's no need for formal attire. Our priority is for our loved ones to enjoy a simple, fun, and intimate celebration.
For the men, a Barong Tagalog is recommended, but if you don't have one, a button-up shirt with chinos or trousers will be just fine.
As for the ladies, a simple garden party dress is perfect. Remember, it's all about feeling relaxed and comfortable. For reference, Bea will be wearing a short wedding dress with sneakers as her bridal attire.
Where can I stay?
Since our wedding is a destination wedding, we recommend booking an accommodation either the day before the wedding (15th January) or on the wedding day itself (16th January), then stay until a day or so after the wedding (17th January). Please book way in advance as accommodations get booked out easily as the date draws closer. You can coordinate with other guests to share accommodations and save on costs. Let us know if you need help on this!
Here's a list of possible accommodations around Dunkeld, Victoria (the town of the wedding venue):
- Royal Mail Hotel
- Aquila Eco Lodges
- Southern Grampians Cottages
- Grampians View Bed and Breakfast
- Dunkeld Caravan Park
- Peppercorn Cottage (Airbnb)
- Salt Creek Cottage (Airbnb)
Feel free to book in nearby towns or even in towns closer to the Grampians National Park. Just be mindful of the time it would take to get to Mt. Sturgeon Homestead on the wedding day.

How to get there?
From Melbourne by driving
We recommend driving to the wedding venue, either with your own car or with car share or rental service. We have not personally tried using public transport to go to Dunkeld, but it's an option, too (see below). Driving to the homestead will take around 3 hours if you are coming from Melbourne.
You can use a valid Philippine driver's license to drive in Australia. Just note that we drive on the left side of the road, please check this guide for an overview. Driving on the highways and the countryside (where the wedding will be held) is generally easier compared to the city. Also, try pooling with other guests to save on money and energy! If you need help, don't hesitate to contact us.

From Melbourne by public transport
Use the VLine train and take a bus to Dunkeld if you do not plan to drive by car to the venue. Please use this tool to plan for your trip. Just plug in where you are leaving from and then going to Dunkeld, the dates you are travelling and then it will generate a timetable for you. Note that if you are coming from Melbourne, there might be better results if you use Melbourne: Southern Cross station as the departing from location.
From outside Melbourne
Fly to Melbourne International Airport (Tullamarine), then travel to Dunkeld from there.
From the Philippines, we recommend Cebu Pacific as it's direct and generally cheaper. But there are also plenty of other flights (most of which have a layover), check out Skyscanner for options.
Transportation hires
Here are some services offering car rental:
Please sign up or book a car in advance as some services require a vetting process before you can rent one.
I'm coming from outside Australia, what do I need to do?
If you're holding a Philippine passport, you need to apply for a visa to enter Australia.
Applying for a tourist visa outside of Australia is fast and easy! Everything is done online. The only face-to-face thing you need to do is if they request your biometrics, which takes approximately less than 30 minutes (some even said they finished in 5-10 minutes!). Please let us know if you are applying for one so we can send you our contact information and a formal wedding invitation letter that you can attach to your online application, as this makes it easier for your visa to be approved.
After lodging your application (and providing your biometrics), expect results in about a week or two. Friends and family reported getting theirs from as short as 1 day to as long as three weeks, but please apply as soon as possible, as this might change due to the nearing holiday season .
Refer to the helpful links below in applying for a tourist visa:
What's the weather like at that time?
It's summer in Australia during January. Expect highs of 26ºC to lows of 14ºC, but some days can be more extreme (2024 saw a high of 34ºC during January). It's important to be prepared for any weather changes, so don't forget to bring sunscreen, sunnies, and other essentials to help you cool down when the weather gets too warm on our wedding day. For more information about the weather in Melbourne during January, you can visit this website.

What is an unplugged wedding ceremony?
An unplugged wedding ceremony is when the couple requests that guests put away cell phones, cameras, and any other devices during the ceremony so that they can be present in the moment. We will have a professional photographer that day, so don't worry about missing out on photos. Once we have them, we will definitely share them with all our guests and post them on our website. Note that this is only during the ceremony, snap away any other time!
I can't physically attend the wedding, will there be live streaming?
We're sad to hear that you're not going, but we totally understand! There will definitely be a live stream of our wedding. Stay tuned for the link by RSVPing to our invitation, where you can input your email to get the live stream link once it's closer to our wedding day. You can also subscribe below:
